Art 1
No Prerequisite.
Thi s is an introd uctory course in which students will be introduced to basic art making processes, the elements and principles of design, and historical and cultural influences. Students will use this information along with their critical and creative thinking skills to develop their art projects. They will also develop their response and evaluation skills as they analyze their own art work and the work of others. Creation of an online portfolio is a requirement of this course. If a student wishes to pursue additional art classes, they will need to keep this portfolio as it will be further developed with each class they take.

2D Art
Prerequisite of a passing grade in Art 1.
In this course, students will focus on advanced drawing skills with various media. They will use these skills when creating digital based design projects with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Development of unique compositions will be emphasized. Response and evaluation skills will continue to be developed as will students' individual online portfolios.

Ceramics & Sculpture
Prerequisite of a passing grade in Art 1 and Junior/Senior status.
Various sculpture media and techniques will be examined in this course with an emphasis on ceramic sculpture. Students will have the opportunity to build and create individually and collaboratively. Response and evaluation skills will continue to be developed as will students' individual online portfolios.

Photo & Graphic Arts
Prerequisite of a "C" or higher in Art 1 and Junior/Senior status.
Students will become familiar with digital photography, the photo editing process, and graphic design techniques during this course. Students will have the weekly expectation of taking photographs outside of school. Digital cameras are available for student use, however, having a personal camera is beneficial. Response and evaluation skills will continue to be developed as will students' individual online portfolios.
